We are recruiting for the Assistant Manager position in the Canada Tax for Assurance team with subject matter expertise in Compilation (Notice to Reader – NTR) & Review Engagement and Tax return (T2, T3 & T5013). Experience in Indian CA experience would be an added advantage. Working as an Assistant Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include:

• Review Medium and advanced topic within Compilation (NTR) & Review engagement and tax returns.
• Managing a team of 6-7 professionals under them. Taking care of the workflow management, their trainings, and mentoring and time to time performance evaluation.
• Coordinating with Onshore Engagement teams in terms of workflow management and maintain the required utilization for the team.
• Apply technical expertise in Accounting and tax compliance and sectors like Financial Institution & Real Estate practice, Medical Professional Corporation, Farming, Leasing and Holding companies etc.
• Report to the engagement Manager(s) or Senior Manager(s) and assist in leading the overall engagement coordination as well as provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Research ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) and IFRS & tax theory and positions and applying them to specific client needs.
• Train new joiners on Assurance and tax practices
• Responsible for team’s utilization, quality and overall growth.

Educational qualifications

• Minimum Master Degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance.

Work experience

• Minimum of 5 plus years of professional experience, preferably in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 public accounting firm. Experian in Canada Assurance & Tax is an added advantage.

Mandatory technical & functional skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel).
• Understanding of Accounting and Tax practices.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Assurance and Audit practices.
• Broad exposure to income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations.

Preferred technical & functional skills

• Strong analytical and advisory skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (including strong presentation skills).
• Able to work in fast moving and demanding environment.
• Strong commitment, multi-tasking, and team player.
• Highly proficient in MS Office (especially in excel, word and power point).
• Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong training, and mentoring skills.
