Yara Fertilizers India Pvt Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Yara International ASA. Yara has supplied fertilizers as well as fertilizer raw materials to the Indian market for over two decades. Yara India has continuously strengthened its footprint in Western and Southern India by providing Crop nutrition solutions with combination of Premium products and Knowledge through unique Farmer centric approach.

With this acquisition Yara India’s scale of operation has grown significantly.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise and monitor maintenance, inspection, repair and testing of control valves, ON/OFF valves, relief/safety valves and pneumatic actuators in the plant and workshop.
  • Oversee the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, machining, lapping, assembly and testing of various types of valves and actuators.
  • Carry out and/or supervise seat leakage, body/bonnet hydro, shell and functional testing of control valves in accordance with applicable standards, including FCI 70-2.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation-related issues in control valves, actuators and positioners, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supervise calibration and performance testing of digital and electro-pneumatic positioners, actuators and associated instrumentation.
  • Interpret and use P&IDs, instrument datasheets, valve manuals, technical specifications and equipment documentation for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Inspection and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution and timely completion of planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Review and maintain maintenance, inspection, calibration and testing records, including parts replaced and valve test certificates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of tools, spares, testing equipment and workshop facilities required for maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job support to technicians and maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to established maintenance procedures.
  • Drive maintenance improvement, equipment reliability and preventive/predictive maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime and improve plant reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, permit-to-work and isolation requirements, statutory standards and applicable safety practices, and ensure completion of required technical and safety training.
  • Coordinate with contractors/vendors for maintenance activities and provide technical support/evaluation, wherever required.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of control valves, safety/relief valves, ON/OFF valves, actuators and positioners.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation troubleshooting, calibration and valve diagnostics.
  • Good understanding of pneumatic and digital control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrument datasheets, valve manuals and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving, maintenance planning and team coordination skills.
  • Good knowledge of process safety, maintenance standards and safe work practices.

Education & Experience

Education

  • B.tech / B.E. in Instrumentation from reputed College/University.
  • Minimum 60% marks in 10th Standard, 12th Standard, and B.tech / B.E. in Instrumentation Engineering.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in Instrumentation within a manufacturing or process industry.
  • Experience in the Fertilizer, Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or other continuous process industries willbe preferred.
