Job description:

Core Responsability

Dewatering (Operations & Maintenance)

· Oversee and manage all dewatering systems within the pit to ensure safe and uninterrupted mining operations

· Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and optimization of pumps, pipelines, and associated infrastructure

· Develop and implement dewatering plans aligned with short- and medium-term mine plans

· Monitor water levels, risks, and system performance, ensuring proactive mitigation actions

· Electrical Infrastructure (Service Mine Ops)

· Manage overhead power lines around the pit and ensure reliable electrical supply to mining operations

· Oversee electrification systems for shovels and drills, ensuring availability and performance

· Supervise trolley line maintenance, expansion, and construction projects

· Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements

· Road Construction and Maintenance

· Supervise construction and maintenance of in-pit roads (temporary and permanent)

· Ensure roads are built and maintained to required safety, drainage, and operational standards

· Optimize road design, conditions, and performance to improve haulage efficiency and reduce costs

· Coordinate with production teams to ensure road availability aligns with mine plans

· General Infrastructure & Leadership

· Lead and manage Dewatering, Electrical (Service Ops), and Road Maintenance Superintendents

· Ensure integration of infrastructure activities with mine production plans

· Monitor performance, costs, and KPIs related to infrastructure services

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure operations

· Ensure high safety standards and compliance with all site procedures and regulations

· Serve as key contact point between infrastructure teams and production.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in open pit mining operations
  • Proven experience managing infrastructure services (dewatering, electrical, or roads)
  • Experience in supervisory or management roles
  • Exposure to large-scale mining operations and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in project execution and operational support

Job Specific Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of open pit mining operations and infrastructure systems
  • Advanced understanding of dewatering systems, electrical reticulation, and road construction practices
  • Leadership and team management skills with ability to coordinate multiple disciplines
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making capability
  • Planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of mine planning and infrastructure design tools
  • Ability to interface effectively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
