We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager Individual Contributor

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the Commercial Banking and Global Market businesses, without compromising on data integrity standards, minimize risk through effective management of cost and resources. ensure process and procedures are continually reviewed, improved and changes are communicated for effective implementation, which are measured through reduced costs and improved revenue
  • Set high standards of staff motivation and leadership by managing good work environment leading to a highly committed and productive team. ensure cross training is covered with end-to-end activities, manage the workflow to ensure efficient operation of the unit and tracking Work requests received from Onshore and Offshore Analysts and prioritizing them depending on the urgency of the review dates.
  • Reading, understanding and analyzing the financial statements (annual reports) and spreading of financial data using Credit Lens, complete the Financial Summary Chart (FSC) template for the customer based on the spreads, updating the subjective Questions and Merton Probability of default (PD) details.
  • Generate the Overall Score and the Corresponding Customer Risk Rating (CRR) in Wren to enable Customer Risk Rating to be recorded in Credit Approval and Risk Management System (CARM), generate the requisite set of financial Reports and send it to the requestor, update Management Information tool regularly on the work completed, pick up ad hoc requests on priority and resolve and reply to all queries related to the spreads raised by the Analyst / Relationship Management Team.
  • Ensure smooth flow of function by maintaining excellent coordination across sites, produce the required Management Information System, achieve and exceed relevant process targets in line with business objectives, acquire and update knowledge on the process, procedures and products on an ongoing basis, exhibit ownership of the business and meet targets on productivity and accuracy as per the targets and metrics defined for the process
  • Correctly interpret, understand and implement instructions/requests, ensure that the process related procedures are implemented as per the process manuals, ensure that fraud/errors/irregular transactions (if any) are identified and escalated, ensure that the customer issues/problems are effectively investigated and resolved, maintain equipment, systems and general work environment in good condition while adhering to all appropriate procedures.
  • All data requirements (iCATS, leave requests, absence requests and ad hoc process information) are completed and updated in a timely manner, adhering strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; reporting weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events, adhere to all the audit requirements and achieve Satisfactory Audit Report
  • Proactively suggest and design improvements in process workflow and record exceptional learning and share it with the team where applicable, understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group and to demonstrate judgmental and critical thinking by providing solutions to assist Relationship Manager’s with process related queries.

To be successful you will:

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics (Bachelor/ Master of Commerce / MBA / PGDM Finance / ICWA / CA) or equivalent. Ideally should have a recognized accountancy qualification. Additional Financial qualifications would be preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in financial spreading and Covenant Monitoring.
  • Acquire in depth understanding of financial spreading processes and associated business areas.
  • Good understanding of International Accounting Standards (US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) & IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), Capital markets and Debt Instruments out of education and/or experience
  • Highly proficient at Excel and Word. Database skills are an advantage. Ability to learn new systems quickly necessary.
  • Excellent English, written and spoken; hard-working; organized; diligent; and above all, a team player.
  • Highly customer oriented and interested in providing top quality customer service.
  • Credit skills and a detailed understanding of bank credit and risk policy and procedures and good understanding of the Financial Ratios and what impacts them.
