About the Role

Lead the development and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives, leveraging research and data analysis to inform key business decisions while ensuring departmental goals align with the company’s overall strategy. With full responsibility for FP&A activities, facilitate the management decision-making and performance management, acting as a strategic finance partner and advisor to senior leadership to drive budgeting, monitoring, and long-term initiatives. Oversee the team management by setting KPIs and guiding performance across project delivery, budgeting accuracy, variance control, and cost optimization, thereby safeguarding AIA’s financial health and supporting the execution of its business strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end management of cross-functional project implementations—both existing and new—ensuring timely execution in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead the evaluation of business cases from financial and non-financial perspectives and oversee budget monitoring.
  • Coordinate with Exco. members and functional leaders to manage the preparation and consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial and business review presentations.
  • Manage the financial planning and forecasting processes, including the development of the annual strategic plan and the establishment of key performance indicator (KPI) targets.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvements in efficiency in budget monitoring and management reporting.
  • Act as a business partner with cost center owners, to optimize strategic spending (expense management) and improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Analyze the market share data and sharing the status quo of market position.
  • Identify opportunities to drive data-driven decision making and the use of advanced analytics, leveraging business intelligence tools to derive insights from integrated data for financial planning and management decisions (e.g. expense management and revenue growth opportunities etc)
  • Engage in business development initiatives, Group-led and LBU business initiatives to adopt flexibility in adapting to new technologies including automation, driving change and transformation, and effectively leading teams in adopting emerging technologies.
  • Foster team development to strengthen capabilities and drive operational efficiency.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, managerial roles in management reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, financial analysis and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting/finance or ACCA/CIMA Holder.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting concepts, actuarial concepts and insurance products.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage deep understanding of business objectives and issues to provide insightful analysis to aid management decision making and problem solving.
  • Solid demonstrated communication skills/stakeholders engagement and in-depth knowledge of expense management, analytics and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple requests working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Effective people management and coaching skills.
