Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – HR Operations will be responsible for managing and supporting day-to-day HR operations across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The role will oversee employee lifecycle activities, onboarding and induction, background verification, adverse action processes, HR documentation, reporting, policy administration, and compliance with applicable employment regulations.

The role will also involve team management, stakeholder management, process improvement, and coordination with HR, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant HR service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding, induction, background verification, and adverse action processes.
  • Lead the HR Operations team, including work allocation, performance monitoring, coaching, quality checks, and escalations.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities including employee changes, transfers, documentation, and offboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable US federal/state, Canadian provincial, and Mexican employment regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate required policy, process, and documentation updates.
  • Review and maintain HR policies, SOPs, process guidelines, and employee communications.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports, dashboards, SLA/TAT metrics, operational trends, and compliance reports.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure audit-ready HR documentation.
  • Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, and business leaders on HR operational matters.
  • Manage employee and manager queries, escalations, and complex operational cases, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support HR audits, compliance reviews, investigations, and regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Identify process gaps and drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across HR Operations.
  • Provide operational insights and recommendations to HR leadership based on data, trends, and recurring issues.
  • Support implementation of new HR initiatives, systems, processes, and organizational changes.
  • Ensure consistent HR delivery, confidentiality, data accuracy, and adherence to defined SLAs and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with US federal and state tax forms, payroll-related documentation, and employee tax requirements.
  • Manage and support employment eligibility and work authorization processes, including I-9 and related documentation.
