Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive horticultural plans tailored to the needs of power generation and energy facilities, ensuring the integration of sustainable and ecologically sound practices.
- Lead the selection, planting, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers, and ground cover that are suitable for local climatic conditions and facility-specific requirements.
- Manage green belt development and maintenance around power plants, substations, and infrastructure, contributing to pollution control, aesthetic enhancement, and ecological balance.
- Collaborate with environmental and safety teams to ensure all horticultural activities comply with environmental regulations, safety standards, and internal policies.
- Conduct soil testing, fertility analysis, and pest/disease management programs to ensure the health and vitality of plantation areas.
- Plan and supervise irrigation systems, water conservation techniques, and efficient usage to align with sustainable water management practices.
- Develop and maintain detailed records of horticultural activities, plant inventories, growth monitoring, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely procurement and quality control of horticultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment.
- Drive innovation by researching and introducing new plant varieties, landscaping technologies, and eco-friendly pest control solutions suitable for the site and climatic conditions.
- Organize training programs and workshops for site personnel to promote awareness and best practices related to horticulture and environmental sustainability. -
- Foster a collaborative culture by working closely with internal departments such as operations, maintenance, environment, and safety to align horticultural efforts with overall business objectives.
- Promote the values of Adani—integrity, innovation, sustainability, and inclusiveness—in all horticultural operations and team interactions.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in plant taxonomy, soil science, pest and disease management, and landscape architecture.
- Proficiency in irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of sustainable horticultural practices and green infrastructure development.
- Familiarity with horticulture-related software and data management tools.
- Understanding of environmental regulations relevant to the Power/Energy sector. - Competence in conducting soil tests and interpreting agronomic data.
Non-Negotiable Skills
- In-depth knowledge of sustainable horticultural practices within industrial environments. - Strong project management and execution capabilities. - Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or a closely related field is mandatory. - Master’s degree or higher qualification in Horticulture or Environmental Science is preferred.
Experience
8-14 years of progressive experience in horticulture, landscape management, or related fields, preferably within the Power/Energy industry or heavy industrial environments.
