About the team:

This role supports the design and development of beverage liquids for innovation and renovation projects. The role focuses on assisting formulation, accomplishing trials, and contributing to delivering liquids that meet consumer expectations and sensory standards.

Global Diageo Business Services (GDBS) is a global multi-functional shared service entity that processes DIAGEO-wide transactions across various world regions.

Diageo Business Service India (DBSI) is a Diageo Business Shared Services Centre (BSS) servicing the Diageo Africa, APAC, Europe, America markets. Processes in scope at DBSI are Order to Cash, Source to Pay, Record to Report, Data Management & Financial Controllership.

Dimensions

Assistant Manager reports to the Reporting Manager. Liaises with other internal & external stakeholders.

Market Complexity:

DBSI currently provides services to 250+ legal business entities in different geographies and works very closely with other shared service centres.

The role covers operations in the sophisticated markets of North America Region. The geographie sophisticated complex, covering demand and/or integrated supply businesses producing beer, spirits, RTDs and Consumer Soft Drinks.

Purpose of Role:

Ensure smooth and accurate month-end closes

Ensure that management and statutory reporting is completed accurately and on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are technically adhered to.

improvement of the financial and operational process

Top 3-5 Accountabilities:

Posting accruals and support accruals calculation

This role is a Lead for group of entity owners (Demand Business) and will be responsible for leading, performing and reviewing BFC reporting.

Work closely with NAM Demand Business (FC, Market teams, & FP&A)

Review League table commenting of the team members

Align with controls, applicable control is C0177, C0169,C0174

Perform and review BS GL reconciliations, Variance analysis and work with FC Team for FSR calls.

Help the team to prepare for external & internal audit (both group and statutory)

Update annual statutory reports (BS, CF, PL and appendix).

Responsible for daily operational accounting and financial activities. Solves arising issues, liaises with stakeholders and with other financial colleagues to solve specific issues.

Participate to the month-end close, BFC reporting and reconciliation process in accordance with the agreed internal and group timetable. Ensure the completeness and the accuracy of financial records.

Working closely with other in-house and local financial teams (Commercial Finance, Costing, BPM, FP&A, Compliance, Cash Cycle, Treasury, Tax, etc…)

Liaise with outsource providers and actively participate on the captive migration RTR project.

Driving issue resolution, pro-actively seek out better ways of doing things and drive implementation of “simpler, faster, better” processes and ways of working.

Proactively suggests improvements/additional control points to build in and takes an active part in operational improvement projects, in implementation, and in the follow up.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Graduate in Finance or Accounting

9+ years experience in accounting, technical accounting skills is required

Financial Reporting (end to end view of Financial Statement Preparation)

Legal entity controllership

Stakeholders management

Process Expertise and improvement

Capable of working in a deadline driven environment.

Experience of working in a multi-national SSC environment

Has customer focus to be able to build excellent relationships with relevant internal and external customers

Hard working personality, flexibility

International (part) qualification (IAS/UK/US GAAP) is an advantage.

Shift time: North America Market timings - 3.30 PM to 12.30 AM and extended hours during Month End Close

Language skills

Good business English, able to communicate optimally

PC skills/System knowledge

MS applications

Proven experience with SAP FI /CO modules

Strong Excel knowledge
