Job Description

This role provides an opportunity to support compliance oversight across multiple Asian markets within General Account and Private Markets investments. You will work closely with senior compliance colleagues to help maintain a strong regulatory framework and ensure adherence to evolving requirements across jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan. The position offers exposure to cross-border regulatory matters, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, providing a strong platform to build regional compliance expertise within a dynamic investment environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide compliance advice with appropriate guidance from senior team members to business stakeholders across multiple Asian markets, including General Account investment operations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments across jurisdictions (e.g. Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan) and assist in assessing impact and implementing applicable requirements.
  • Contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures aligned with regional and global standards.
  • Support licensing matters and regulatory filings (notably Hong Kong and Japan), ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Support compliance review of new investment opportunities, including AML/CTF screening and regulatory considerations.
  • Assist in reviewing legal and commercial documentation from a compliance perspective.
  • Support preparation of compliance reporting and management information for senior management and relevant committees.
  • Participate in compliance programme initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, training delivery, and ad hoc projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 4–6 years of relevant experience in compliance, audit, investment operations, or within a financial regulator.
  • Foundational knowledge of the investment industry, including public and private markets and real assets.
  • Basic understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks, including Hong Kong SFC requirements, insurance regulations, and AML/CTF laws.
  • Background in audit, law, compliance, or investment operations; relevant accounting, finance, or legal qualifications advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to regional compliance across Asian jurisdictions.
  • Experience supporting investment or insurance-related businesses.
  • Familiarity with cross-border regulatory requirements.
  • Interest in policy development and regulatory advisory work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions.
