Job Description
About us
Love, Bonito is Southeast Asia’s leading womenswear brand, built with a mission to empower women to find confidence through style. Incorporated in 2010 in Singapore, we’ve since grown from a humble online startup into a multi-channel business with over 20 stores and counting across Asia and a thriving online presence.
For the next decade, we are looking to expand through new categories, markets, wholesale partnerships, and brand acquisitions. We are evolving into a next-generation regional consumer group — one that blends heart with performance, and creativity with technology.
At our core, we’re a team of builders, dreamers, and doers who believe culture is more than words on a wall — it’s how we show up every day. We move fast, stay curious, and take bold bets on ideas and people we believe in. Here, you’ll find a community that challenges you to grow, trusts you to lead, and celebrates you for being you. Together, we’re shaping the future of Asian brands — from right here in Southeast Asia, to the world.
Why join us?
At Love, Bonito, you’ll do more than just a job — you’ll help build a movement. We’re creating an organization that’s lean, bold, and full of heart — where every person has the space to make an impact. Here’s what you can expect:
- Purpose with performance We’re building a world-class Asian brand that competes globally. We hold ourselves to high standards and operate with purpose, integrity, grit and excellence. Join us if you take customer service excellence seriously and are passionate about creating real impact!
- Growth that’s real We are known to be incredibly dynamic and fast-paced. You’ll be expected to learn fast, stretch beyond your comfort zone, and work alongside people who challenge and support you in equal measure. Don’t join us if you’re looking for a comfortable, fully structured setup, but do join us if you’re excited to build, shape, and make an impact together!
- Culture at our core If you’re looking for a no-corporate-BS environment, you’ll fit right in. We lead with empathy, celebrate individuality, and believe that great work comes from trust, not titles. We believe in teamwork and effective collaboration - because when we run together, we go further. If this speaks to your values, come join us and be part of #TeamLB!
Join us as we redefine what it means to build an enduring global consumer group.
The role
You will be a key commercial and creative force in shaping Love, Bonito's seasonal collections. Sitting at the intersection of fashion, data, and customer insight, you will own collection strategy and buying execution across your category scope — ensuring every launch is commercially strong, brand-right, and customer-relevant.
You will lead range planning, drive buying decisions, and work closely with Design, Planning, and cross-functional teams to bring each season to life. This is a role for someone who can hold both the detail and the big picture — with the confidence to make product calls and the rigour to back them with data.
You should have / be
- 5–7 years of experience in buying or merchandising, with demonstrated ownership of commercial outcomes [vs Snr/Exec: Snr/Exec requires 3–5 years; AM level requires evidence of managing buying decisions and revenue targets, not just supporting them]
- Proven ability to lead buying sessions and own range planning end-to-end [vs Snr/Exec: Snr/Exec is expected to support and execute; AM is expected to lead and drive]
- Strong commercial instincts — able to translate trends, data, and customer insight into product decisions with conviction
- Data-driven and numerically strong; comfortable owning revenue, margin, and productivity targets
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel. AI coding capability is a plus
- Passionate about fashion with a solid understanding of the LB brand DNA and customer. Accessories and/or bags background is a plus
- Confident leading cross-functional alignment — able to manage stakeholders across Design, Planning, Merch, and Marketing [vs Snr/Exec: Snr/Exec is expected to support cross-functional work; AM is expected to lead and drive alignment independently]
- Resilient and adaptable; able to perform under pressure and navigate ambiguity
- Collaborative and relationship-driven, with strong influencing skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Growth-oriented with a willingness to lead, coach, and continuously improve
Main responsibilities
Collection Strategy & Range Planning
- Own collection strategy and range planning for apparel categories — defining key commercial highlights across business lines and launch weeks
- Own range architecture with Planning — defining master style split, personas, and pricing tiers aligned with OTB to ensure a balanced, commercially strong assortment
- Lead and own non-apparel categories (lifestyle, accessories, bags) end-to-end — from trend research and sourcing through to buying and launch
- Conduct market, competitor, and trend research — translating insights into clear product direction and identifying key bets each season
- Identify and lead opportunities for new category expansion and collaborations
- Build and maintain pricing architecture aligned with brand positioning and margin targets
Collection Development & Design Alignment
- Partner with the Design team to shape each collection — rebalancing the assortment based on commercial needs, customer insight, and newness
- Review and validate styles at design sign-off and weekly style approval stages against collection strategy, pricing, and commercial goals
- Lead definition of Key Looks (Must-Buy) aligned with commercial high-depth styles, LB DNA, and targeted aesthetic personas
- Provide data-backed product feedback to strengthen product relevance, commerciality, and collection balance
- Work closely with country merch teams to incorporate retail and market feedback into product direction
Assortment Performance, Reporting & Optimisation
- Build and own weekly sales reports to analyse collection performance and drive decision-making
- Own assortment productivity — driving commercial trade-offs and portfolio decisions within category scope
- Monitor NOOS replenishment and work closely with country merch teams on end-of-life and carry-over strategies
- Identify whitespace opportunities, cannibalisations, and performance drivers to inform future range plans
Buying & Commercial Execution
- Own end-to-end buying operations — including buy file creation, seasonal buying readiness, and all buying tools, templates, and trackers
- Lead buying sessions — presenting range strategy, commercial focus, and investment allocation to cross-functional teams
- Own revenue, margin, and productivity targets across category scope
- Lead OTB allocation and define depth by PLC (1M / 2M / 3M)
- Set and maintain the pricing framework, ensuring margins are aligned with targets in partnership with Product Development
- Maintain Airtable with accurate product data — including Pricing Framework, Buying PLC, Suggested RRP, Modern Modest Wear, and Colour Swatches
- Create and maintain the Collection Tracker (seasonal, speedlane, restocks) — ensuring all assortment changes, colour updates, launch week revisions, and style cancellations are accurately reflected
Cross-functional Alignment & Documentation
- Coordinate and drive alignment across Design & Development, Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Retail
- Drive key decisions and stakeholder buy-in, ensuring downstream teams are briefed and commercially aligned post-buying
- Develop and maintain seasonal materials — collection decks, buyer linesheets, assortment bibles, and product training tools
- Improve and maintain workflows to ensure strong process execution, data accuracy, and timely updates across all tools and trackers
KPI
- Revenue, margins, and assortment productivity
- Core range contribution and non-apparel category growth
- Customer acquisition and retention impact
- Speed and effectiveness of go-to-market execution
- Cross-functional alignment quality and buying session effectiveness
