The Assistant Manager - Civil (O3) will be responsible for a broad spectrum of activities encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, and maintenance of civil works associated with thermal power plants. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing projects, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety norms. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordinating civil construction activities, including foundations, structural works, and auxiliary buildings, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Supervising site operations to ensure construction quality, compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and company standards.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, electrical, and environmental to integrate civil work seamlessly with overall project execution.
- Managing contractors and subcontractors, including monitoring performance, conducting periodic audits, and ensuring adherence to contract terms and safety protocols.
- Implementing quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship and material usage, including regular inspection and testing.
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations related to environmental, safety, and labor laws, and embedding Adani’s values of sustainability and safety in daily operations.
- Preparing detailed progress reports, cost estimates, and resource plans for review by senior management and stakeholders.
- Identifying risks related to civil engineering activities and developing mitigation plans to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives by adopting best practices, modern construction techniques, and innovative materials.
- Facilitating training and development programs for junior engineers and field staff to enhance technical competency and safety awareness.
- Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment, ensuring timely availability to prevent project delays.
- Leading efforts in preventive and corrective maintenance of civil structures within the plant premises to enhance operational reliability.
- Participating in audits and inspections by regulatory authorities and preparing necessary documentation and compliance reports.
- Championing Adani’s safety culture by promoting a zero-accident environment and encouraging reporting and resolution of safety concerns.
- Supporting sustainable construction practices by leveraging eco-friendly materials and minimizing environmental footprint.
- Contributing to strategic planning for future civil infrastructure needs aligned with business growth and technological advancements.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute. - Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.
Certification Required
- Professional Engineer (PE) Certification or equivalent is desirable. - Certification in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) is an added advantage. - Safety certification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is preferred.
