Job Description

With properties in some of Australia’s most iconic locations, NRMA Parks & Resorts provide accommodation that suits every budget, style, and occasion – from campsites to luxury resorts. We connect holidaymakers with over 50 incredible destinations to create unforgettable holiday experiences.

Part of the trusted NRMA Group, a member-owned brand, our passionate team works together to make holiday magic happen—it's not just our job, it's in our nature.

Tropical Queensland is calling… are you ready to answer?

Join the team at stunning Cape Hillsborough Holiday Park, home of the iconic sunrise experience where kangaroos and wallabies meet the ocean. This is more than just a job, it’s a lifestyle opportunity in one of Australia’s most unique coastal destinations.

Located just 40 minutes north of Mackay and 90 minutes south of Airlie Beach, this is your chance to step into a hands-on leadership role while living and working where others holiday.

This is your chance to grow your career in a truly special location while gaining exposure across all aspects of park operations. You’ll work alongside an experienced Park Manager, build your leadership capability, and be part of a team that genuinely loves what they do.

What you will do:

As Assistant Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of the action supporting the Park Manager to deliver an exceptional experience for every guest, every day. You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly while leading from the front and building a high-performing team.

You will:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the park, ensuring everything runs like clockwork
  • Help create memorable guest experiences and maintain a beautifully presented park
  • Lead, coach and motivate team members across all areas of the business
  • Assist with rostering and workforce planning to keep operations running seamlessly
  • Support asset management, including preventative maintenance and site presentation
  • Assist in monitoring financial performance, including labour and operating costs
  • Contribute to park upgrades, projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help track and drive key business performance metrics
  • Champion a strong safety culture for guests, visitors and your team
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and development of team members

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days are the same—and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting.

Roster: Monday, Thursday to Sunday

Accommodation: Available if required (but not essential to live onsite. You can choose what works best for you!)

What you will bring:

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves being part of a close-knit team. You might currently be a Department Head or in a senior supervisory role and ready for your next step into broader operations.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a supervisory or department head role within hospitality, tourism or a similar environment
  • QLD Blue Card (Mandatory)
  • A genuine passion for guest experience and creating memorable stays
  • The ability to lead from the front and build strong, positive team culture
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle priorities with confidence
  • Experience supporting operations with Food & Beverage or events (highly regarded)
  • A hands-on, can-do mindset and willingness to get involved wherever needed
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of what drives operational success
  • Flexibility, energy and a team-first attitude

What’s in it for you?

At the NRMA we aren’t just about discounts (although you do get these too). We offer benefits to help make work and life just right for you!

  • Progressive flexibility, leave and well-being benefits to balance all of life's priorities including 5 weeks annual and recreation leave.
