The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality or accommodation professional to step into an Assistant Manager role at Discovery Park Biloela

Working closely with the Park Manager, you’ll play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the property, supporting the team, building strong relationships with our guests and ensuring the park operates smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who thrives on variety, enjoys being part of a community and takes genuine pride in creating an exceptional experience for guests. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership, make decisions and play a key role in the ongoing success of the park.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage daily park operations and attend to after-hours callouts when required
  • Oversee guest check-ins, reservations, accounts and general reception operations
  • Build strong relationships with our guests, creating a welcoming and positive park community
  • Assist with budgeting, revenue management and cost control to support the park’s financial performance
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, responding to enquiries, feedback and reviews
  • Support, coach and motivate the team, contributing to a positive and productive workplace
  • Step up and lead park operations in the Manager’s absence
  • Assist with marketing initiatives to promote the park and attract new guests, businesses and workstay opportunities
  • Develop positive relationships with local businesses, contractors, community groups and key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with the wider G’day Group network, sharing resources, knowledge and support where required
  • Assist across all areas of the park as needed, taking a hands-on approach to maintaining high standards
  • Help create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for both guests and team members

About you

We’re looking for a superstar individual who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a hands-on environment and loves creating great experiences for people.

You’ll be a confident and approachable leader who can build genuine relationships with guests and team members, keep things running smoothly and step up to take charge when required.

You’ll enjoy the variety that comes with working in a regional property and be someone who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved.

Skills and experience include:

  • Proven experience in hospitality, accommodation, tourism or caravan park operations
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a focus on training, development and creating a positive team culture
  • Experience working with long-stay, corporate, contractor or workstay guests will be highly regarded
  • Sound financial understanding, with experience assisting with budgets, revenue and cost control
  • Tech savvy, with experience using RMS, Newbook or similar reservations systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine customer-first approach and passion for delivering memorable guest experiences
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to assist across all areas of the park
  • Ability to confidently lead operations in the Manager’s absence
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and after-hours when required
  • A current driver’s licence
