About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Perth Audit team. BDO’s Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, working with a diverse portfolio of organisations across a broad range of industries.
Our growing audit practice provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging organisations. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a high‑performing team, gaining exposure to complex engagements while continuing to build your leadership capability.
About You
Relevant tertiary qualification
Demonstrated external audit experience within a professional services firm (typically 4+ years)
CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members
Solid understanding of financial statement areas and key audit concepts
Ability to identify risks and apply appropriate audit procedures
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
Key responsibilities include:
Support the management, leadership and development of the Audit team to ensure successful completion and execution of assigned engagements
Contribute to service line initiatives and support broader team strategy and continuous improvement
Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the development of appropriate audit approaches for each assignment
Review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and reports prepared by the team to ensure compliance with audit plan, procedures, and quality standards
Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters, escalating where appropriate
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, supporting effective communication throughout the audit process
