About the Role

We have an exciting Assistant Manager opportunity to join our Brisbane Audit team BDO’s Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Australia’s leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base.

Our thriving audit practice works with and provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging companies. You will have the opportunity to work in a high performing team on a diverse client base with exposure to challenging work in a cross section of industries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, execute and complete audit engagements, including delivery of complex audit areas across a range of complexity and scale

  • Support and guide the Audit team through coordination, review of work and on‑the‑job coaching

  • Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the development and execution of appropriate audit approaches for each assignment

  • Prepare and review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and draft reports to ensure readiness for Manager and Partner review

  • Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters, including preparation of technical positions and consultations

  • Liaise with clients on day‑to‑day audit matters and assist in identifying future opportunities

About You

  • Demonstrated external audit experience in a professional services firm

  • Experience completing and reviewing audit work across complex engagements and a passion for developing teams

  • CA/CPA qualification

  • Strong technical understanding across financial statements areas and audit standards

  • Ability to identify potential risks of material misstatement and design audit tests to mitigate those risks

  • Experience in reviewing General Purpose accounts, including exposure to listed or larger entities

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to audit quality

Competitive salary based on level of experience: starting from $109,000 inclusive of super
