Job Description

Are you a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy leading teams, solving problems, and creating memorable guest experiences? Pullman at Sydney Olympic Park, is looking for a motivated and energetic Assistant Manager (Duty Manager) to join our Front Office leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about guest service, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams.

As Assistant Manager (Duty Manager), you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day hotel operation during your shift, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, supporting and developing team members, and acting as a key point of contact for guests and colleagues across the hotel.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the Front Office team during your shift and ensuring smooth daily operations
  • Delivering exceptional guest experiences and resolving guest concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Coaching, mentoring and supporting Front Office team members to achieve service excellence
  • Conducting shift briefings, handovers and team communication updates
  • Building strong working relationships across all hotel departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Monitoring hotel standards, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Assisting with team training, development and performance management
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and rostering activities as required
  • Managing daily balancing procedures and ensuring accurate reporting
  • Acting as the senior hotel representative and decision-maker during your shift
  • Leading by example through a visible and hands-on approach to service delivery

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a hotel Front Office environment or similar
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Experience with Opera Cloud or similar Property Management Systems (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, public holidays and major event days
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
  • Valid RSA certification or willingness to obtain
  • Availability to work full-time.
  • Current and valid Australian driver’s licence.
