Job Description

The Direct Tax and Stats Assistant Manager will work as the team supervisor, responsible for team performance, motivation, skill development, knowledge transfer, and goal achievement. This will enable enhanced productivity, improved service quality, strengthened control and compliance, and the establishment of a scalable platform for growth and acquisitions, all within a centralized delivery model.

The supervisor will support , train the team, review deliverable quality and coordinate daily activities, applying leadership skills and a strong foundation of tax processes expertise for several markets, and utilizing professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education, or relevant previous experience delivering the service solution.

• Supervise, support and coordinate the Direct tax ans Stats team, ensuring they have the right tools and resources to perform properly their work.
• Monitor end to end projects process making sure the right level of quality, KPMG standards, and timely.
• Provide regular feedback to team members to ensure achievement of global and indivual goals.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development by identifying training needs, defining delegation mechanisms and facilitating opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Manage administrative tasks such as vacation scheduling, timekeeping, hiring processes and resource allocation to ensure smooth team operations aligned with the Manager.
• Skillfully manage difficult conversations with team members and stakeholders, addressing performance issues, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Address 1:1 to provides constructive feedback to team members, highlighting strengths and areas for development.
• Work as a technical resource for the team, providing expert guidance on complex tax, accounting and administrative issues and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Make informed decisions on complex issues, leveraging expert analysis and critical thinking to resolve challenges and mitigate risks.
• Conduct reviews of low and medium tax returns ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, integrity and KPMG expected quality.
• Maintain a current understanding of evolving tax legislation and engage in continuous professional development in tax and accounting.
• Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to ensure the team possesses a strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, accounting principles and enhance soft skills.
• Regularly review and update SOPs to reflect current best practices, regulatory requirements, controls mechanisms ensuring the team adheres to standardized processes.
• Coordinate and assign tasks to team members, providing clear instructions and expectations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and lead projects to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments and external clients, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Attend meetings on behalf of the team, providing updates on progress, addressing concerns, and contributing to strategic discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of tax and accounting processes, as well as financial statement analysis.
• Upper intermediate to advanced proficiency in English.
• Advanced Skills in MS Office applications.
• Process-focused mindset, with experience coordinating teams to meet organizational objectives.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, suitable for both colleagues and superiors.

Experience

3 to 4 years working on tax, finance and accounting processes.
