About the Role

The park is located in Roxby Downs, South Australia, near the iconic Borefield Track and a gateway to the renowned Oodnadatta Track, making it a key accommodation hub for workers and travellers in the region.

This is a unique opportunity to join a close-knit team in a remote regional location, where no two days are the same. Roxby Downs offers easy access to some of South Australia’s most spectacular outback experiences, including hiking, camping and exploring the Flinders Ranges and surrounding tracks.

As an Assistant Manager you will be supporting the day-to-day operation of the park. You’ll manage guest arrivals and bookings, support the team, handle busy mining workstay periods and jump in across the park when needed.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee guest check-ins, reservations, and accounts, with a strong focus on providing friendly and welcoming front-desk service.
  • Manage fluctuating occupancy levels and high-demand periods with a calm and solutions-focused approach.
  • Assist with budgeting and maximizing revenue.
  • Assisting in managing daily operations and after-hours callouts.
  • Inspire and support the team and contribute to a positive, close-knit working environment.
  • Take a hands-on approach during quieter periods, assisting with grounds maintenance, property inspections, emails and other operational tasks.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts to attract new guests.
  • Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety and ensure safe operating practices across the park.
  • Work on a 10:4 roster

About you

You will be a friendly, approachable and hands-on hospitality professional who enjoys connecting with guests and is confident working across all areas of park operations.

Skills and experience will include:

  • Experience of using RMS or similar reservations system – Essential
  • Drivers Licence and own vehicle – Essential
  • Food safety experience would be highly regarded.
  • A chef or commercial kitchen background would be advantageous.
  • A current forklift licence would be highly regarded.
  • The ability to live and work in a remote regional location

How to Apply

Before receiving a job offer, candidates must consent to a Federal Police Clearance. Additionally, a valid Working with Children's Check specific to the state is required.

This role may require heavy lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with chemicals and machinery.
