· Position: Assistant Manager - Production (Plate Generation)

· Department: Production

· Location: Angul Plant

· Reporting To: Manager - Production

· Grade: Assistant Manager

· Function: Plate Generation Operations

· Shift: General / Shift as per business requirement

Qualification/ Personal Attributes

· B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

· 6-10 years of experience in battery manufacturing, with significant exposure to plate generation operations.

· Strong understanding of plate production processes, process optimization, and quality management.

· Experience in manpower planning, shift management, and resource allocation.

· Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.

· Working knowledge of ISO systems, EHS standards, and statutory compliance requirements.

· Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.

· Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

· Ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
· Lead plate generation operations to achieve production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.

· Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing processes and product quality standards.

· Manage manpower deployment, machine utilization, and resource planning across shifts.

· Monitor key process parameters and implement corrective and preventive actions for deviations.

· Coordinate with maintenance, quality, planning, SCM, and EHS teams for smooth operations.

· Drive productivity improvement, cost reduction, and waste elimination initiatives.

· Lead the implementation of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence projects.

· Ensure full compliance with ISO, EHS, and statutory requirements.

· Review production performance, prepare reports, and present improvement plans to management.

· Develop team capability through training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of operators and supervisors.

· Support new projects, capacity expansion activities, and process improvement initiatives.
