About the Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will be teaming up with a supportive Relationship Manager to support a portfolio of complex commercial customers operating across diversified industries and structures.

The role is focused on growth through acquisition, increasing share of wallet and referrals, credit analysis, deal execution support and ongoing portfolio management for customers with sophisticated banking requirements or demonstrating strong growth trajectories.

This role is suited to a banker looking to deepen their exposure to larger balance sheets, complex group structures and institutional-style products, while operating with a disciplined credit environment.

Role Location: Ground, 135 Horton Parade, Maroochydore QLD 4558

Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

What will your day look like?

Your day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the preparation of new business proposals, annual reviews, restructures and deal variations for customers and maintain control of workflows across all compliance and customer fulfilment process
  • Assist with deal structuring, including analysis group structures, deal structuring and facility design, security considerations and covenant frameworks
  • Working closely with Relationship Manager to understand customer strategies, growth plans and funding requirements
  • Engaging with Credit Risk, Product partners and other internal stakeholders to progress deal efficiently and within risk appetite
  • Monitor portfolio performance, including covenant compliance and emerging risk indicators, whilst maintaining a well-managed portfolio compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Ensuring all work aligns with ANZ credit policy, governance standard and risk frameworks

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in a commercial banking frontline role and commercial lending
  • Well-developed written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and commercially sound credit documentation, portfolio commentary and customer communications
  • Sound understanding of credit risk principles and governance expectations
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy across credit documentation, portfolio reporting and customer records
  • A collaborative mindset and confidence engaging with Relationship Manager, Credit and senior internal stakeholders
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as KYC and AML
