PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, a pioneer in the coffee industry who embraced high-quality beans, superior roasting methods, and a pure passion for the art of coffee making. Today, PJ’s Coffee is recognized for harvesting, roasting, and personally crafting gourmet drinks using only the top 1% of Arabica beans and delicious organic tea. In addition, our selection of fresh breakfast pastries and hot breakfast sandwiches makes for the perfect beverage pairing.
PJ’s Coffee carries a complete line of espresso-based beverages, flavored coffee, and award-winning Original Cold BrewTM Iced Coffee. PJ’s Coffee is committed to bringing our customers the freshest coffee possible, while developing programs to ensure quality of life is improved through community initiatives and by supporting local school programs.

PJ's Coffee of New Orleans is based in the coffee capital of the world. The history of coffee in Louisiana is rich and strong. For more than two centuries, the finest coffee beans from around the world have always come here first. Coffee arrived in New Orleans in 1720 when French explorers introduced it to the city. Today, one third of all the coffee in North America lands first on the docks of the Crescent City. Savor a cup of coffee almost anywhere in North America and you'll taste New Orleans. Naturally, the largest coffee roasting plant in the world is located here too. Every cup of coffee PJ's best represents our commitment to the legacy and culture of the Crescent City.
We travel the globe to hand-select only the finest coffee beans - from Sumatra to Ethiopia, from Colombia to Kenya - everywhere the best coffee grows. Plucked be hand at the peak ripeness, the fruits of the Coffea Arabica bush are transported to mills where the beans are expertly removed, dried and hand-sorted before shipping to our artesian roasters.
The "PJ" in our name stands for Phyllis Jordan, our founder who opened her first coffee house over two decades ago. She's one of the pioneers of gourmet coffee - her idea: to create unique coffee blends and roast the beans in small batches - the same way we do it today in our roasting facility not far from Bourbon Street.
