Assistant MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT - R40kpm - Milnerton, Cpt An established business is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to support the financial administration and reporting of the company's portfolio. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will help maintain accurate accounts, coordinate payments and reconciliations, and ensure month-end processes are completed on time. Meaningful responsibility: Take ownership of key financial processes while working with a range of internal and external stakeholders. ​ Key responsibilities include: Prepare owner payment schedules, load approved payments and distribute payment confirmations and supporting documents. Compile owner disbursement packs, including payment schedules and net operating income/profit-share reports. Complete monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and clear outstanding items. Maintain tenant deposit schedules, reconcile balances and account for applicable interest. Coordinate and reconcile transfers between operational and deposit investment accounts. Prepare month-end journals, including accruals, corrections, reallocations and debtor adjustments. Maintain utility accrual schedules and investigate variances. Calculate administration and lease fees, prepare billing schedules and resolve discrepancies before invoicing. Review petty cash transactions, allocations, receipts and supporting documentation. Track recoverable expenses, prepare reimbursement schedules and follow up on outstanding amounts. Process approved bad debt write-offs and deposit adjustments, maintaining clear audit trails. Support month-end reporting, financial reviews and audits. Respond to financial queries from property managers, owners, tenants and other stakeholders. Ensure financial records and processes comply with internal controls, accounting standards and reporting deadlines. Requirements Requirements Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. At least 2–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance environment. Experience with reconciliations, owner payments and month-end accounting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Sound understanding of accounting principles, general ledger management and financial reporting. Experience using accounting and management systems. Familiarity with online banking platforms and payment processing. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and practical problem-solving skills.
