Assistant Machine Operator

Location: New Paltz, NY Pay: $17.00–$19.00 per hour (based on experience) Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

As an Assistant Machine Operator, you'll work alongside experienced Machine Operators to help produce high-quality corrugated packaging while learning valuable manufacturing and printing skills. Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Machine Operator, you'll support the operation of high-speed manufacturing and printing equipment while ensuring products meet Viking's quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the setup, operation, and changeover of high-speed manufacturing and printing equipment.
  • Load raw materials into machines to maintain continuous production.
  • Remove, palletize, and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Assist the Machine Operator with machine adjustments to maintain production quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspect products for quality and report any issues to the Machine Operator.
  • Follow production specifications, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S standards.
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately measure to 1/16 of an inch.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and production specifications.
  • Willingness to learn and operate multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic computer skills are a plus.
  • Experience working with printing inks, PMS colors, or GCMI color standards is preferred.
  • Previous experience operating high-speed manufacturing or printing equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and commitment to workplace safety.
