This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Key Account Manager based in Canada.
This role supports the growth and development of important retail and commercial accounts across the Canadian market.
Working closely with the Key Account Manager, you will help strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for sustainable sales growth.
You will combine account management, business development, sales planning, and cross-functional coordination in a highly collaborative environment.
The position offers meaningful exposure to customer strategy, merchandising, product availability, and commercial performance.
You will work with internal teams to ensure customer needs are addressed efficiently and account plans are executed effectively.
A proactive, creative, and relationship-driven approach will be essential to maximizing opportunities while protecting brand standards.
This is a fully remote opportunity with occasional travel across Canada and to Minneapolis to support key accounts and team initiatives.
Accountabilities:
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts and act as an initial point of contact for sales-related discussions and account needs.
- Support the development and execution of account plans and commercial strategies in partnership with the Key Account Manager.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key account stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Visit customers periodically to support strong execution of brand guidelines and appropriate merchandising standards.
- Manage order frequency, product availability, and curated product assortments to support customer and business objectives.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities to increase product placement and expand the account portfolio.
- Drive business development and contribute to sales and profitability growth across assigned accounts.
- Track sales targets and performance metrics, providing accurate updates and identifying opportunities or risks.
- Prepare presentations, proposals, reports, and other materials for customer and internal meetings.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure customer requirements are addressed effectively.
- Participate in regular internal meetings, virtual customer meetings, product reviews, and account planning activities.
- Maintain timely, clear, and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Take ownership of assigned priorities while remaining collaborative, receptive to feedback, and willing to support broader team initiatives.
- Travel occasionally across Canada and to Minneapolis as required for customer meetings, business needs, and team activities.
Requirements:
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- 2–3 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or a related commercial role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted professional relationships and use them to support commercial growth.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to monitor sales performance and account information.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to prepare and confidently deliver presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business productivity tools.
- Ability to balance commercial objectives with customer requirements, business limitations, and brand guidelines.
- Creative and resourceful approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think beyond conventional solutions.
- Positive, personable, intuitive, imaginative, and open-minded approach to working with customers and colleagues.
- Strong ownership and self-motivation, combined with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to share ideas, contribute to discussions, and actively support team objectives.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally across Canada and to Minneapolis.

- Competitive salary: CAD $90,000–$110,000 annually.
