Pediatric Dentistry of Shreveport-Bossier is looking to hire an Assistant Insurance Coordinator who is detail-oriented, organized, and excited to support families through the dental insurance and treatment process. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients while also having a strong interest in dental insurance, claims, and the administrative side of pediatric dentistry.

Our offices proudly serve families in Shreveport, Bossier City, Natchitoches, Minden, Ruston, Alexandria, and surrounding areas. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable communicating with patients and insurance companies by phone and through online insurance portals.
• Previous experience with dental insurance, dental billing, or a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader dental team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Communication

• Educate patients on out-of-pocket costs, insurance coverage limitations, and treatment-related expenses.
• Explain treatment plans and help patients understand their financial responsibility.
• Submit pretreatment estimates to insurance companies and communicate expected coverage to patients.
• Answer patient questions regarding insurance benefits and treatment costs in a clear and professional manner.

Insurance Verification

• Navigate insurance websites and communicate with insurance companies by phone to determine benefit breakdowns and plan frequencies.
• Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits accurately.
• Review and understand dental history as it relates to insurance coverage and treatment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date insurance information in the patient record.

Denial Management

• Research previously denied dental claims to determine the reason for denial.
• Appeal denied claims and work with insurance companies to resolve outstanding issues.
• Follow up on denied claims and work to recover eligible insurance payments within a 30-day window.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow-up throughout the claims process.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficient in CurveHero dental software.
• Proficient in Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes.
