About the role:
This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) as an Assistant in Nursing in our busy Day Surgery Unit. Yo u will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide essential support before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will contribute tomaintaininga safe environment,assistingwith patient flow, and ensuringhigh standardsof cleanliness, equipment readiness, and patient comfort.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 191-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Things that work for us:
Ability to work on a casual basis
Essential qualifications: Relevant TAFE Certificate ie Certificate III health/aged care and/or have successfully completed second year bachelor of nursing studies clinical placement
Previous experience in a hospital setting Is desirable
Ability to provide clinical practice and care that is consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Facility.
Ability to assist in the performance of nursing duties in an efficient and prompt manner as delegated by a Registered Nurse or an Enrolled Nurse.
Have a demonstrated application of contemporary infection control standards and practices
Proven ability to work a 7-day rotating roster, weekends and nights included.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.
In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
