Our History
Established in 1997, MacKillop Family Services strives to ensure all families are supported to provide children with a safe and permanent home, and the best possible start to their lives. Our history dates to the 1800's and was founded on a deep commitment to caring for the most marginalised children, young people and families in our community. Despite our growth, we have never wavered from our commitment to our values of justice, hope, compassion and respect, and a deep understanding of the impact of trauma, informed by the Sanctuary Model
We work for the rights of children, young people and families to be safe, to learn, feel nurtured and connected to culture through the provision of high-quality services to promote healing from trauma and loss, and to enable hopeful futures.
