Assistant Hospital Manager

Full-Time | 24/7 Emergency & General Practice Veterinary Hospital

Are you an experienced operations leader looking for the opportunity to eventually lead a large, multi-million-dollar healthcare operation?

Moore Lane Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Assistant Hospital Manager to join our leadership team. This is a unique succession planning opportunity designed for an experienced leader who wants to grow into leading one of NVA's largest and most complex veterinary hospitals.

Working alongside an experienced Hospital Manager, you'll gain hands-on experience leading a, 24/7 emergency and general practice hospital while developing the operational, financial, and people leadership skills needed to manage a large veterinary hospital of your own.

Moore Lane Veterinary Hospital is a growing 24/7 Emergency and General Practice serving pets throughout the region.

Our hospital includes:

  • 24/7 Emergency & General Practice
  • 11 veterinarians with plans to grow
  • 35–55+ team members throughout the year
  • Dedicated departments including Client Service, Boarding, and Medical Operations

This is a dynamic, high-volume hospital where no two days are the same.

What You'll Do

As Assistant Hospital Manager, you'll partner directly with the Hospital Manager to help lead hospital operations while preparing for future Hospital Manager responsibilities.

Leadership

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop department managers and supervisors
  • Coach leaders to build engaged, high-performing teams
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and professional development
  • Help create a positive culture where employees feel supported and empowered

Operations

  • Partner with department leaders across the hospital to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Support multiple service areas including emergency, general practice, boarding, and client service
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency
  • Help lead organizational growth as the hospital continues to expand

Financial Leadership

  • Review financial statements, KPIs, labor reports, and operational metrics
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting and financial planning
  • Drive financial accountability while maintaining exceptional patient care
  • Continue building a culture of financial transparency and shared ownership

Strategic Growth

  • Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and long-term planning
  • Support expansion of medical services and doctor growth
  • Build the experience necessary to eventually lead a large veterinary hospital

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced operations leader who enjoys developing people, solving complex problems, and leading through collaboration.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing a complex, multi-department operation
  • Experience leading organizations with $5M+ annual revenue
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L ownership, labor management, and KPI analysis
  • Proven success developing managers and future leaders
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Veterinary experience is welcomed but not required.

Schedule
