Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $29.00 per hour through applicable shift differentials and overtime.
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

The Arc of Ocean County is looking for an experienced and compassionate Assistant Group Home Manager to help oversee one of our residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to combine leadership responsibilities with direct support, helping create a safe, respectful, and person-centered home for the individuals we serve.
Working in partnership with the Residential Program Manager, you will assist with supervising staff, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring high-quality services that promote independence, community involvement, and personal growth.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Assist the Residential Program Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to Direct Support Professionals, particularly during the Manager's absence.
- Conduct monthly supervision meetings with assigned part-time staff members.
- Assist with employee coaching, performance feedback, and annual evaluations.
- Help coordinate staff schedules, shift coverage, and mandatory training requirements.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
Individual Support & Program Coordination
- Support individuals in building independent living, communication, and social skills.
- Encourage participation in recreational, educational, vocational, and community activities.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs).
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings and contribute to person-centered planning.
- Monitor behavioral support strategies and document progress toward individualized goals.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable residential environment.
- Coordinate access to medical, dental, behavioral, and pharmaceutical services as needed.
- Ensure all electronic documentation, communication logs, medication records, and required reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Support compliance with standards established by DDD, DHS, DCF, and other regulatory agencies.
- Cooperate with licensing reviews, audits, inspections, and investigations as required.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring household budgets and program expenditures.
- Complete administrative reports and documentation within established deadlines.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and effective communication in daily operations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the residential program.

Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five (5) points.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including assisting individuals with mobility and lifting as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and modified schedules based on program needs.
