Compensation: Starting at $25.00 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $29.00 per hour through overtime and applicable shift differentials.
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Residential Program Manager to help oversee the daily operations of one of our residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This leadership role combines staff support, program coordination, and direct involvement in person-centered services to ensure individuals receive high-quality care in a safe and supportive home environment.
Working alongside the Residential Program Manager, you will help guide staff, encourage professional development, and promote opportunities that empower individuals to live as independently and successfully as possible.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Development
- Provide day-to-day leadership and operational support during assigned shifts and in the absence of the Residential Program Manager.
- Mentor, coach, and assist Direct Support Professionals in delivering quality, person-centered services.
- Participate in employee coaching, supervision, and performance discussions.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and ensuring employees remain current with required trainings.
- Foster teamwork, professionalism, and accountability throughout the residential program.
Individual Support & Service Coordination
- Assist individuals in developing daily living, communication, and interpersonal skills that promote independence.
- Encourage participation in recreational activities, community outings, and meaningful social experiences.
- Support the implementation of individualized service plans and person-centered goals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to planning for individual progress and outcomes.
- Assist with behavioral support strategies while monitoring and documenting individual progress.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming residential environment.
- Coordinate and monitor access to medical, dental, behavioral health, and other necessary healthcare services.
- Ensure required documentation, communication logs, medication records, and reports are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Support compliance with agency policies and standards established by DDD, DHS, DCF, and other regulatory agencies.
- Participate in licensing reviews, inspections, audits, and quality assurance activities as needed.
Administrative & Program Operations
- Assist with household budgeting, purchasing, and monitoring routine program expenditures.
- Complete administrative reports and operational documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective communication with staff, families, guardians, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the residential program.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) points.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and support residential staff.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including assisting individuals with mobility and lifting as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and modified schedules to meet program needs.
