
The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for the full-time position of Assistant General Manager for Men’s Basketball.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include: assisting the men’s basketball sport administrator by serving as a strategic partner between the athletic department and men’s basketball coaching staff; assisting the Men’s Basketball General Manager and Head Men’s Basketball Coach in a variety of duties including coordinating practice arrangements; assisting, as needed, with data collection including the tracking of team performance statistics during competitions and practice sessions; serving as liaison to all Division offices/departments including, but not limited to, NCAA Compliance, NIL Strategy and operations; talent evaluation- inclusive of maintaining a potential portal and high school athlete database throughout the year, integrating advanced scouting methods, analytics, and player development strategies; continual engagement and relationship development with agencies/agents; assist in the development and execution of an NIL strategy engaging with student-athletes and their representatives; assistance with donor and former player engagement; and performing other program duties as assigned by the Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Operating Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree; experience working on projects related to basketball recruiting for a Division I program; a demonstrated working knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree; division 1 men’s basketball student-athlete experience; prior experience in recruiting operations for a division 1 basketball program; final four experience; knowledge of and prior experience with administration of team operations; and possesses coaching and student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics and its men’s basketball program.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
Salary will be commensurate with experience
