Job Description

Earn $60,000-$70,000 annually plus quarterly bonus opportunities while serving as the Assistant General Manager at one of Philadelphia's newest waterfront restaurant and bar concepts.

This is a true second-in-command leadership role where you'll work directly alongside the General Manager to build systems, develop people, strengthen operations, and help shape the continued growth of a young restaurant group.

You'll help lead daily operations while overseeing a team of more than 20 employees. As the business continues to grow, this role also offers the opportunity to become the onsite Private Events Coordinator with additional commission-earning potential.

Compensation

  • $60,000-$70,000 annual salary

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position supporting all aspects of daily restaurant operations. You'll work closely with the General Manager to maintain service standards, coach managers and hourly staff, strengthen operational systems, and help create a high-performing team culture.

About the Restaurant

Lucky Duck is one of Philadelphia's newest waterfront restaurant and bar concepts located along the Delaware River. The restaurant seats approximately 250 guests, generates $3-$6 million in annual sales, averages 3-5 table turns during service periods, and operates using Toast POS.

Leadership describes the culture as challenging, respectful, and nurturing, with a strong emphasis on developing people while building a successful long-term operation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of more than 20 employees
  • Hold managers and team members accountable for performance expectations
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and staff development
  • Create employee schedules
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory
  • Monitor labor and operational efficiency
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally
  • Support menu development and programming initiatives
  • Assist with private events and event coordination
  • Help strengthen operational systems and procedures

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory management
  • Scheduling experience
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Financial and operational awareness
  • Event coordination experience is a plus
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and working on your feet throughout the shift
  • English proficiency required
