A mid-level attorney in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) practice area responsible for providing full legal services to clients under the supervision of a managing or supervising attorney. Carries out legal assignments, including research and preparation of contracts and briefs. Performs non-routine legal assignments.
1 Performs broad and moderately complex legal assignments in the area of FERC regulations and policies. Assists more experienced attorneys in representing Exelon in agency proceedings and/or relevant litigation. Advise clients with respect to all legal and FERC compliance matters.
2 Responsible for developing an understanding of each assigned client’s business and business philosophy.
3 Prepare, and revise as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.
4 Projects / duties as assigned.
An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions. At least 4 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and on ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law as required by the position.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly – both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines
