Expected salary range of $219,600 to $244,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

A mid-level attorney handling complex energy transactions including project financings, joint ventures, venture investments, tax credit purchase and sale agreements, and EPC contracts and other complex procurement contracts.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Handle and supervise complex energy transactions; evaluate both legal and business risks and advise clients accordingly with minimal supervision.
  • Review and draft commercial contracts and advise clients accordingly.
  • Work closely with and advise clients on business operations, emergent industry opportunities and developments and other related matters.
  • Projects / duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • At least 10-12 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and on ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Law firm experience.
  • 4 to 8 years of professional experience drafting contracts.
  • Experience and knowledge of the energy industry and in particular independent power producers and nuclear power plants.
  • Proven legal analytical and drafting abilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines; and to provide realistic risk assessments and practical advice to clients.
