Salary Range: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 SalaryPURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
The Defensive Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the team's defensive strategy and performance.  This position will implement defensive game strategies, oversee defensive coaching staff, and lead defensive players in preparation and competition. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, practice planning, practice support, scouting, video breakdown, film exchange, social media, fundraising, event management and administrative duties.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
- Evaluate player performance through film review and practice assessments
- Supervise defensive assistant coaches
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator to ensure team alignment
- Serve as the football recruiting coordinator
- Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off of the field toward student athletes, other coaches, parents, administrators, and members of the community
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and engage in creative problem-solving
- Passion and motivation to recruit student-athletes
- Possess an outcome-oriented approach to coaching

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Fundraising and alumni engagement
- Video coordinator and film exchange
- Scouting
MARGINAL DUTIES:
- Serve as a contest manager for WNE winter and spring athletic competitions
- Complete other duties as assigned by the head coach

QualificationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Intercultural competency; ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability, required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching and lifting in an athletic environment.
- Sufficient mobility to independently negotiate the University Campus.
HOURS:
Full-time, hours vary.  Requires night and weekend hours.  Travel is required.
