REPORTS TO: FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER

STATUS: PART-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the successful execution of food & beverage and event operations by providing on-site leadership during assigned events. This position helps supervise team members, supports concessions and operational needs, coordinates event-day staffing and shift responsibilities, and helps ensure a clean, safe, and guest-focused environment. The role also serves as a key operational contact during events and assists with opening and closing procedures, event support, and inventory responsibilities as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Serve as the on-site manager during assigned events
  • Ensure Food & Beverage and Operations team members are performing assigned duties efficiently and professionally
  • Supervise staff throughout events and provide guidance as needed
  • Coordinate employee lunch and rest breaks to maintain proper staffing levels
  • Assign and monitor pre-shift and post-shift responsibilities
  • Step in to assist with concession stand operations when needed
  • Perform janitorial or facility support tasks as necessary to ensure a clean and welcoming environment
  • Serve as the main operational contact for event directors during events
  • Open the facility before events and secure/close the venue after events
  • Monitor facility cleanliness, safety, and guest experience throughout events
  • Address customer questions or concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure staff follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of events as needed
  • Complete shift reports and communicate operational updates to management
  • Help identify and resolve operational issues before they impact guests or events
  • Assist with inventory counts and inventory management as responsibilities expand
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • 1-3 years of culinary experience
  • 2-4 years of food & beverage management experience
  • Food Manager Safety Certification, Safe Serve Certification, or similar certification (or willing to obtain upon employment)
  • CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain upon employment)
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time indoors and outdoors
  • Facility has intermittent noise
