In this role, you'll:

Join the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Financial Control team, supporting a diverse and complex Transport portfolio.

With guidance and support, you’ll gain hands on experience across core financial control activities, including:

• Assisting with the preparation of financial and statutory reports

• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining clear, accurate supporting documentation

• Reviewing transactions to ensure financial information is recorded correctly in the systems

• Identifying discrepancies or reconciling items, raising questions, and escalating issues when needed

You’ll also support month end processes, such as journals and inter agency reconciliations, and help manage reconciliation tools (without needing to be a system specialist).

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, developing a strong understanding of financial governance, controls, and reporting in a large public sector environment.

About you

You’re experienced in financial accounting and control or at the early stages of your finance or accounting career and keen to learn. You bring:

• A foundation in financial accounting or reporting, gained through study and/or early career experience

• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions and learn from others

• An analytical mindset and interest in understanding how financial information fits together

• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to work

You’re organised, reliable, diligent and able to manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

You also hold a Bachelor qualification in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Commerce, or an equivalent overseas qualification.
