The position

We're looking for an Assistant Finance Officer to join our Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance. This is a part-time, casual role working 3 days per week, supporting the Finance team to enable timely and accurate financial reporting and management in support of Tiimely's strategy and organisational performance.

You'll provide coordination and pro-active liaison with colleagues across Tiimely, and support the operational delivery of financial frameworks, forecasting, reporting, and financial processing, with a strong focus on excellent service.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciliation of bank statements and supplier statements.
  • Supplier invoice processing and statement reconciliation.
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Administering Receipt Bank and Xero accounts payable.
  • Corporate credit card administration, liaising with cardholders to educate and resolve queries.
  • Resolving accounts payable queries with customers and partners.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records of all receivable and payable transactions and verifications.
  • Supporting the Financial Accountant with statutory reporting requirements, including preparation of Activity Statements (BAS, IAS) and payroll tax.
  • Supporting the Financial Accountant with the monthly review of the general ledger, including expense accounts and GST transactions.
  • Supporting the booking and management of companywide travel (flights and accommodation) in line with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Supporting office management duties and ad-hoc projects as required.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Hold, or be working towards, a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce.
  • Experience in a similar accounts payable, bookkeeping or finance support role.
  • Working knowledge of Xero (or similar accounting software) and confidence using Excel.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A proactive, service-oriented approach, with strong communication skills to liaise effectively across the business.

Desirable

  • Experience administering Receipt Bank or similar expense management platforms.
  • Exposure to BAS/IAS preparation or payroll tax processes.
  • Experience in a fintech, financial services, or other regulated industry.
