FINANCE OFFICE

Assistant Finance Manager (Treasury Section - Income Team) (25260605)

The appointee is expected to support the Senior Finance Manager in leading and supervising a small team of four accounting staff in carrying out the following duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of income collection, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across donations, Government subventions, auxiliary services and miscellaneous income;
  • Supervise and monitor the income collection systems, including the Micro Donation Website, Donation Module, University-wide Payment Portal, Payment Gateways, and Accounts Receivable Module;
  • Prepare annual and mid-year budgets, monthly management reports on income and accounts receivable, and year-end audit schedules;
  • Prepare committee papers and PowerPoint presentations, and review relevant reports, including accounts receivable schedules, management reports and detailed analysis schedules;
  • Act as a key liaison between the Finance Office and internal user departments, supporting complex accounting matters, purchase requests and providing budgetary control advices and guidance over payment processing; and
  • Perform and/or oversee system enhancements and ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Senior Finance Manager.

Requirements:

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent; membership of a recognised professional accounting body is desirable;
  • Minimum five years of accounting experience preferably in sizeable organisations, including at least two years in a supervisory role;
  • Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Advanced computer literacy is essential, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; hands-on experience with ERP platforms is highly preferred, with proven experience in leveraging technology for process improvement, system enhancement, and automation;
  • Solid experience in project management and leading system enhancement initiatives, with a proven ability to coordinate and implement new projects effectively across departments/offices;
  • Highly adept at multi-tasking and managing priorities in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines; able to coordinate and fulfil requirements from various stakeholders effectively; and
  • Demonstrate proven leadership abilities; mature, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
