Job Posting Details

The Finance Office is looking for an accounting professional with good analytical skills to work in Financial Planning and Reporting Unit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements of the University, ensuring compliance with the accounting standards and Cost Allocation Guidelines (CAG) for both UGC-funded and non-UGC-funded activities.
  • Review monthly financial statements to identify unusual transactions and address long-outstanding items.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of the University’s annual budget, analyze budget proposals, conduct forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Compile Common Data Collection Format ("CDCF") reports and fulfil other financial reporting requirements as requested by the University Grants Committee.
  • Support system implementation and process re-engineering to enhance efficiency and streamline operations; and
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • A university degree in accounting/ business/ finance and a recognized professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in universities, NGOs, or sizable organizations
  • A good team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
