FINANCE OFFICE

Assistant Finance Manager (Accounting and Budgeting Section) (25260662)

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manager in supervising a small team of accounting staff;
• Support month-end and annual closing processes, prepare financial reports and analysis, and liaise with auditors for the annual audit;
• Perform daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures;
• Build relationships and provide financial guidance to faculties and administrative departments;
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and budgetary control;
• Prepare full sets of accounts for the University’s subsidiaries and related companies;
• Provide financial support for projects, including vetting, fund monitoring, timely report submission, and audit;
• Review and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations; and
• Perform any other ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisor.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with membership of a recognised professional accounting body;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and management reporting, preferably within universities, NGOs or sizeable organisations, with a minimum of 2 year must be at a supervisory level;
• Strong analytical mind, effective problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented, independent, responsible and proactive in seeking solutions;
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Chinese (Cantonese and preferably Putonghua), as well as strong interpersonal and collaboration skills;
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work efficiently under pressure; and
• Proficiency in computer software, with hands-on experience in Oracle financials considered an advantage.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with membership of a recognised professional accounting body;

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend for a written test.

S alary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
