The Tempe Manufacturing Site Finance is responsible for the financial control, reporting, and analysis of the Tempe Device Manufacturing Operation. The team provides financial support to manufacturing operations as well as Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Engineering, Materials Management, and BTS support functions. The Finance Manager, Tempe Assistant Controller oversees financial accounting, financial reporting, cost allocation, collection of data, and preparation of reports that maintain AbbVie’s cost accounting systems for businesses supported. The Assistant Controller is responsible for maintaining a control environment compliant with internal control policies/procedures to assure accurate financial reporting and responsible commitment of asset/expense resources. The Assistant Controller is a leader in both the Finance Organization as well as Tempe Site Operations and is expected to foster an inclusive and welcoming working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and analysis for the various forecasting and reporting cycles (month-end actual reporting, LBE forecasting, LRP and Plan development) ensuring accurate financial results/forecasts for all stakeholders.
  • Oversees and provides guidance for the annual standards setting process including summarizing impact of cost change and presenting results to Phoenix and Device Region Business and Finance senior leaders.
  • Partners with Phoenix leadership providing financial impact of business decisions, operational reviews and identifying opportunities for cost improvement.
  • Leads and supports business case development for capital investments, sourcing alternatives, third party manufacturing arrangements. Presents findings and recommendations to Phoenix and Device Region senior leadership.
  • Maintains a robust internal control environment in compliance with AbbVie policies, guidance and regulations.
  • Supports and provides guidance for all plant audits, both internal and external.
  • Supports standard and ad-hoc requests from AbbVie Finance outside of the Phoenix site (i.e. Corporate Tax, Operations Accounting HQ, etc.)
  • May be responsible for managing a staff directly or indirectly.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

•MBA in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA preferred.

•Minimum 7+ year’s related accounting experience required with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.

•Strong attention to detail.

•Experience in SAP and HFM preferred.

•Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
