The Assistant Finance Clerk supports the processing of donations and donor data, contributing directly to the integrity of the Red Cross’s financial records and donor reporting.
Working within established procedures, this role performs high-volume data entry, batch processing, deposit preparation, and record maintenance within CRC systems (e.g., donor management platforms).

In this role, you will :

  • Support the accurate and timely processing of donations and donor information within CRC systems, ensuring data integrity and adherence to established procedures

  • Prepare and reconcile donation batches and bank deposits, validating completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation

  • Maintain and update donor records and data files, including supporting large-volume data uploads and data quality checks

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to the finance and philanthropy teams, including reporting and responding to routine inquiries

  • Identify and flag discrepancies, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated as appropriate

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and documentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy

  • Collaborate with team members to support consistent, high-quality service delivery

  • Adhere to CRC policies, procedures, and data handling and compliance requirements

  • Support broader organizational priorities, including emergency response activities, as required

What We Are Looking For:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a data processing, clerical, or finance support role

  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate (1–2 years) or equivalent experience

  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Basic understanding of financial processes and data accuracy controls

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

  • Ability to follow standardized procedures and resolve routine issues

  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a high-volume environment

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach

  • French proficiency, including reading and translation, is required

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a clean, office-based environment in Saint John, NB

  • Role requires sustained concentration, attention to detail, and meeting time-sensitive deadlines

  • No direct supervisory responsibility

  • May be required to support CRC emergency operations, where needed

  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment screening, including an Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC)
