The Aquatics and Athletic Facilities Division of the M-NCPPC is seeking an Assistant Facility Manager for the Prince George’s Trap & Skeet Center. Our ideal candidate will provide facility management, maintenance, and operation of the facility under general supervision. The selected candidate will participate in program planning, facility management and general administration, applying technical expertise in the development and management of revenue generating and diverse sports and recreation programs for all ages. The position’s work assignment often includes special projects requiring a high degree of specialized and comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
The M-NCPPC offers a competitive salary range of $57,747 to $102,275 at the Recreation Parks Facility Manger I level with an excellent benefits package including generous leave, extensive health coverage, deferred compensation plan, employer's retirement plan, and work-life programs. The hiring range for this position will be $57,747 to midpoint of the advertised salary range and will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Works inside and outside an assigned facility which may operate seven days per week. Works extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. On-call to respond to emergency situations as required. Incumbents in this class must frequently remain in a stationary position, operate motor vehicles, communicate and exchange information with internal staff and the public, be able to see for short and long distances, and occasionally lift equipment and other items weighting up to 49 pounds and ascend and descend ladders and stairs.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is a bi-county agency empowered by the State of Maryland in 1927 to acquire, develop, maintain and administer a regional system of parks within Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, and to provide land use planning for the physical development of these counties. The agency gained responsibility for public recreation program in Prince George's County in 1970.
Governing Body
The governing body of M-NCPPC consists of 10 members, 5 appointed by Montgomery County and 5 by Prince George's County. The Commission coordinates & acts on matters of interest to both counties, and meets at least once a month. The members of the Commission from each county serve as separate Planning Boards to facilitate, review and administer the matters affecting their respective counties.
Range of Duties
M-NCPPC administers a park system of more than 52,000 acres. It is composed of stream valley parks, large regional parks, neighborhood parks and park-school recreation areas. Its staff of career employees includes planners, park and recreation administrators, park police and administration staff. In addition, seasonal workers staff numerous park and recreation programs.
