The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing daily housekeeping operations while embracing Coury Hospitality’s commitment to intentional design, elevated guest experiences, and people-first leadership. This role blends operational oversight with hands-on leadership, setting the tone for a culture of pride, accountability, and genuine care. This non-exempt role assists with training, inspections, scheduling support, and service oversight; hotel standards are consistently met.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Assist in supervising daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms and public areas.
Conduct room and public area inspections to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and readiness standards.
Support training, coaching, and onboarding of housekeeping curators.
Assist with daily staffing assignments, shift coverage, and break coordination.
Monitor room status and communicate effectively with the Front Office to support operations.
Ensure timely execution and delivery of guest amenities, special requests, and service recovery items.
Address guest concerns related to housekeeping service during assigned shifts, escalating issues as needed.
Assist with inventory tracking of linens, supplies, amenities, and equipment.
Support compliance with safety, sanitation, and environmental procedures.
Maintain accurate housekeeping logs, checklists, and reports.
Lead by example, performing hands-on duties as needed to support the team.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Furthermore, tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Prior housekeeping supervisory experience in a hotel preferred.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead by example in a hands-on environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills are important.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Professional appearance and service-oriented demeanor.
Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and team members.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
Ability to inspect guest rooms and public areas.
Must wear required personal protective equipment per job responsibilities.
