The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in managing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces consistently meet cleanliness, safety, and brand standards. This role assists with supervising staff, coordinating schedules, conducting inspections, and managing inventory while ensuring smooth and efficient departmental operations.

This position operates in a fast-paced hotel environment requiring active oversight of housekeeping operations across guest floors, service areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role involves frequent walking, inspections, and hands-on support of housekeeping teams. Flexibility is required, including weekends and holidays based on operational needs. Success in this role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards while supporting daily operational execution and team performance.

Job Responsibilities

Operations Support
• Assist in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, including room cleaning and public area maintenance.
• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned, inspected, and ready for occupancy in a timely manner.
• Assist in managing housekeeping operations in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Ensure consistent application of brand standards across all housekeeping functions.

Staff Supervision
• Supervise housekeeping staff, including room attendants and housepersons.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
• Prepare schedules, assign duties, and monitor productivity levels.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing support to team members.

Quality Control
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas for cleanliness and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to hotel and brand service standards.
• Address and correct deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Support continuous improvement of housekeeping quality standards.

Inventory & Supplies
• Monitor and control inventory of linens, uniforms, and cleaning supplies.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of equipment and chemicals.
• Assist with ordering supplies and managing departmental costs.
• Support waste reduction and cost control initiatives.

Guest Service
• Respond to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns professionally and promptly.
• Coordinate with front desk and maintenance teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Ensure VIP rooms and special requests are handled accurately and on time.
• Support overall guest satisfaction through service excellence.

Safety & Compliance
• Enforce health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Train staff on proper chemical handling and equipment use.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Support compliance with all hotel safety standards.

Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality coursework or degree preferred.

Experience: 2–5 years of housekeeping experience required, including prior supervisory experience in a hotel or resort environment.

Travel required: No travel required; position is fully property-based.

Physical requirements:
• Frequent walking and standing throughout hotel property.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25–50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a physically active, fast-paced environment.
• Regular movement through guest rooms, corridors, and service areas.
