UPS Service Engineer – Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled UPS Service Engineer to handle installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown support for UPS systems and associated electrical equipment. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum system uptime and customer satisfaction through effective technical support and timely service execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out Installation & Commissioning (I&C) of UPS systems, battery banks, and related electrical equipment.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and health checks of UPS systems to ensure reliable performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults, alarms, and breakdown issues in UPS systems efficiently.
  • Conduct load testing, battery testing, and performance analysis of UPS equipment.
  • Attend emergency breakdown calls and provide quick resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal support teams for smooth project and service execution.
  • Prepare and submit detailed service reports, PM reports, and technical documentation after site activities.
  • Ensure all service activities are completed as per safety standards and company procedures.
  • Support customers with technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and operational recommendations.
  • Maintain records of spare parts, service activities, and system updates.
  • Travel to customer sites for service support, shutdown activities, and project execution as required.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of UPS systems, batteries, electrical panels, and power systems.
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle customer interactions professionally.
  • Knowledge of electrical drawings, SLDs, and safety practices.
  • Willingness to travel and work during emergency breakdown situations.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Diploma / BE in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience in UPS service, commissioning, or electrical maintenance activities preferred.
