Assistant Engagement Officer

Location – Parramatta Hybrid

Employment type – Temporary till 30 June 2028

Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6, $ 99,938- $ 110,271 per annum + superannuation

Your role

Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.

Homes NSW leads work to deliver more social and affordable housing, end the cycle of homelessness, and deliver quality public housing to our 262,000 tenants across NSW.

The role is responsible for supporting the implementation of a range of project communication and engagement activities that support the successful delivery of Homes NSW programs.

What you’ll do

Your role will include:

• Supporting the delivery of community engagement activities by providing clear, timely information to tenants and community members about Homes NSW projects and programs.

• Work with local delivery teams and engagement staff to ensure consistent messaging when dealing with tenants, community members, stakeholders and service providers.

• Identify community concerns, risks and issues as they arise and escalate them appropriately, supporting actions to reduce impacts on tenants and the community.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with tenants, community representatives, contractors and partner organisations to support smooth program delivery.

• Prepare and distribute practical communication and project materials to manage the projects and keep communities informed.

• Support the monitoring of contractor communications and onsite activities to ensure information provided to tenants and communities is accurate, approved and meets Housing requirements.

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Relevant experience supporting project teams and providing administrative and written communication
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
