
The Marine and Terrestrial Sciences (MTS) Section provides technical and operational support for marine and terrestrial research at OIST and for the broader research community. MTS operates the Marine Science Station and sea neXus facilities, supports experimental planning and implementation, and delivers fieldwork logistics across Okinawa. The section also provides environmental monitoring, equipment and dataset management, permitting and stakeholder coordination, and data support (including GIS and sensor workflows), alongside biological collections support and safety training.
海洋・陸域科学(MTS)部門は、沖縄科学技術大学院大学(OIST)および広範な研究コミュニティにおける海洋・陸域研究に対し、技術的・運営的支援を提供します。MTSはマリン・サイエンス・ステーションおよびSea neXus施設を運営し、実験計画・実施を支援するとともに、沖縄全域における野外調査のロジスティクスを提供します。さらに、環境モニタリング、機器・データセット管理、許可取得と関係者調整、データ支援(GIS及びセンサーワークフローを含む)、生物標本収集支援、安全訓練も提供しています。
