As the Assistant Director of Nursing – Surgical Services, you will help lead the delivery of high-quality patient care across surgical, procedural, and perianesthesia services. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily operations, drive quality and performance improvement initiatives, ensure regulatory readiness, support shared governance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote exceptional clinical and operational outcomes.
This position provides leadership for perioperative and perianesthesia at Weston Hospital and Coral Springs Ambulatory Surgery Center. Weston Hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient surgical specialties, while Coral Springs Ambulatory Surgery Center is a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center that delivers high-quality surgical and procedural care, including an outpatient joint replacement program and endoscopy.
Caregivers in this salaried, exempt position primarily work Monday through Friday on the day shift. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required based on departmental and operational needs.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist with direction, coordination and management of all nursing areas.
Provide supervision and act as a resource to nurse managers, educators, clinical specialists, and staff.
Collaborate with leadership team regarding budget review, personnel management, monitoring of productivity and staff development.
Ensure communication, cooperation and understanding among staff.
Monitor adherence to CC and Nursing Institute policies and procedures.
Promote ongoing professional development of staff at all levels.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
BSN
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Four years of recent clinical experience
One year of health care management experience
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Clinical experience in perioperative, procedural, and/or perianesthesia nursing.
Specialty certification in OR, pre/post, or procedural nursing.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
